Abstract

The origin of the concept of conflict was born with the history of humanity. The occurrence of conflicts in all environments in which the human being is present every day presents lines of normality. The main objective of the study was to identify the types of conflicts that occur in the school according to the perceptions and points of view of the teachers. The study sample made up of 96 teachers from special education institutions in zone 4, Manabí. For data collection, the simple random sample technique was used. The questionnaire was obtained as a research instrument structured in 10 questions, the same one that was developed on a four-point Likert scale, that is, strongly agree, agree, disagree and strongly disagree. The reliability of the instrument was found by applying the assessment of the Likert scale. According to the research exhibitors, the majority of the teachers fully agreed to use a conflict management strategy. Conflict resolution strategies used by teachers vary according to the point of view of the rector or administrator of the center in which they experience the conflict. In addition, results have been obtained regarding the fact that there is no common management policy in educational centers and they do not use existing regulations or coexistence manuals. However, most teachers showed a tendency to use a strategy in accordance with conflict management in their schools.
