The Significance of Developing Water Skills for Midshipmen in Their Naval Officer Training

The present scientific article analyzes the importance of developing aquatic skills in Midshipmen as an essential component of their training to become Naval Officers. It explores the dimensions that support this need, from mastering the maritime environment to surviving in it, including the execution of naval operations, leadership and teamwork, physical fitness and discipline, confidence and self-improvement, and professional versatility. It concludes that aquatic skills are not just a complement but a cornerstone in the formation of Naval Officers, preparing them to successfully face the challenges awaiting them in their naval careers. The development of aquatic skills is fundamental in the training of a midshipman, not only due to its relevance in the operational field but also because of the physical and mental benefits it provides. This article explores the importance of these skills in preparing future Naval Officers, highlighting their impact on safety, operational efficiency, and the overall well-being of naval personnel.
