ABSTRACT

Indigenous women face high levels of violence and harassment due to colonization, racism, patriarchy, and double discrimination. They suffer daily from domestic violence, murder, rape, mental health problems, and persecution for defending community rights. Even within their own communities, they suffer from genital mutilation, child marriage, and traditional practices that violate their bodies and autonomy. Far from being viewed solely as victims, Indigenous women must also be considered crucial drivers of change and protectors of their peoples' rights. Therefore, the Good Police Practices propose to CREATE A PERMANENT COMMITTEE FOR THE PARTICIPATION OF INDIGENOUS WOMEN AND POLICE OFFICERS TO MINIMIZE GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE IN PEACE QUADRANT No. 1, SECTOR 6, JOSE DE WARA AND MANAKRI COMMUNITIES, SANTA ELENA DE UAIRE, BOLIVAR STATE. The purpose is to contribute to women from indigenous communities having a greater leading role and being less vulnerable, enjoying a better quality of life, and consolidating trust with the Bolívar State Police. Strategies to be applied: Community outreach, Data collection, Establishing institutional links and ties, Active participation in police mediation and conflict resolution. Planning educational day activities.
