ABSTRACT

Experiential tourism requires rigorous instruments to assess the quality of strategic planning. This study addresses this need through the design and validation of a checklist integrating substantive management criteria. The objective was to design and validate an instrument to evaluate strategic plans in experiential tourism, considering the dimensions of relevance, internal coherence, feasibility, innovation/differentiation, and sustainability. An instrumental descriptive design with a quantitative approach and complementary qualitative analysis was employed. Content validity was assessed through a panel of five experts selected based on academic and professional expertise, using the Score method (1–10 scale) and Aiken’s V coefficient, with values ≥ .70 considered acceptable. Results showed high levels of validity (mean Score = 9.44; Aiken’s V = .76), with sustainability (Score = 10; V = 1) and feasibility (Score = 9.95; V = .95) obtaining the highest agreement. Items related to company data and innovation were refined. The checklist demonstrates strong content validity and represents a robust instrument for evaluating strategic plans in experiential tourism.
